  HOSPITAL VISITING

The support group visits the hospital every Wednesday evening at 7.30 pm. This visit is made available to all patients that would like to see us, our first visit is on the E3 Liver unit ward for assessment patients who may be in need  of a Liver Transplant, this is then followed up by a visit to W3 liver unit ward, for patients post transplanted, the visits will always try to consist of 2 transplanted patients and a carer for any possible questions that may be asked.
Special meetings with a transplanted patient for a patient /relatives in hospital  can usually be arranged outside of the Wednesday evening sessions if required, please get in touch for details.
Please Note,  patients that would like a bedside visit if unable to attend a group meeting is possible and we would be only too pleased to do so, please get in touch with us or ask any of the co-ordinators to contact us. Our only aim is to help as much as we can.
A brief description is explained about the transplant process itself, then an open discussion is invited to answer any questions, worries or fears that patients may have about going through the transplant.
Medical questions about a patients condition, medication etc are NOT DISCUSSED this is out of the scope of the support group, and must be referred to the medical staff.
